Kitty's Story - Overcoming Food Allergies
Hi. My name is Kitwana but everyone calls me Kitty. My story starts when I turned 2 years old. I was a big boyd and ready to spread my wings and explore the world, well at least my apartment.
For some reason, I started to get itchy. At first, it was just a little bit, but over time, it got worse and worse. It was so bad that I had to pluck out some of my feathers. "Here it is, bird food that Winston wants and is good for him!"
Winston was diagnosed as hypothyroid. I remember hearing and seeing the details of the fat content in his blood because he wasn't metabolizing it…the white blood cells were as rich and creamy as milk not as clear as water…as they should be. I wasn't sure if Winston was going to make it…until his doctor got him on medication and he started to eat Oh Boy.
That was two years ago. He still takes his medication and still eats Oh Boy. He's messy with it because he just digs into it and lifts his head. His beak is covered with Oh Boy and I'll ask, "What are you doing?" He replies, "Breakfast!" I cook it and he eats it, nothing is left in his dish. Thank you for Oh Boy.

Ordinarily, we serve our two Lovebirds top quality mash, pellets, and seeds, with bits of organic fresh fruits and vegetables on occasion. However, after Chloe lost her appetite and suffered a critical weight loss, our avian veterinarian provided us with a sample of Oh Boy to offer as an alternative.
In an effort to get her to eat, we tried Oh Boy uncooked, since neither bird has shown much interest in cooked meal. As well, we offered Oh Boy in addition to their regular fare, not expecting much initial reaction; both Mango and Chloe usually will avoid anything new, Chloe especially. So you can imagine our complete surprise watching the two of them dig in immediately, and with great gusto!
Chloe quickly regained her lost weight, in very large part thanks to Oh Boy. Oh Boy instantly became their favourite and now both Mango and Chloe will bypass other food to get to it, even special treats. We are pleased that Oh Boy is not only a healthy addition to their diet—just look at the quality of the ingredients—but also one they truly love to eat!

I mix it with equal portions of diced fruit and veggies along with a small amount of soak seed and cooked beans and lentils for a wonderful, healthy and well-balanced meal everyday!
Great for birds with corn allergies - a great alternative to pellets if necessary! Having a bird with a serious illness, a healthy diet is necessary for her and Oh Boy is part of that diet!
